Pacquiao vs Cotto Fight Recap, Replays, Post-Fight and Downloads

Manny Pacquiao once more put another dominating performance against Welterweight champ Miguel Cotto, knocking down the Puerto Rican champ twice and turning his face into a bloody mess before Referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight on 12th round in favor of a TKO win for Pacquiao.

Fight Recap

Here's a complete recap of the November 14 Saturday night action.

Pacquiao comes out to "Eye of the Tiger" tune with a big grin on his face. Cotto looks far more measured, entering to a rap song. His face tells the story of a man who knows he's in the biggest fight of his career.

The Crowd seems to be evenly split of supporters for each fighter.

Round 1

Both fighters were pretty cautious. Cotto is landing his jab effectively and so far Pacquiao's speed isn't a problem for Cotto.

Pacquiao's swarming style didn't bother Cotto and Cotto is clearly the stronger fighter.

Round 2

Pacquiao opens up the offense, landing plenty of combinations. Cotto's jab is still effective, but he didn't throw enough. However, Cotto was able to handle Pacquiao's power, walking through clean shots.

Round 3

Pacquiao continues landing combinations, and knocks Cotto down early as Cotto's gloves touch the canvas.

But, Cotto rallies well, landing big shots on Pacquiao. I wonder if Pacquiao can continue to take Cotto's best shots as the fight wears on.

Round 4

Cotto applies the pressure, trying to avenge the knock down. He works over Pacquiao on the ropes for much of the round.

Pacquiao escapes and flurries. He lands a big left that knocks Cotto down again. This time Cotto's whole body hits the canvas. Cotto is lucky there were less than 10 seconds left as he gets up and survives the round.

Round 5

Pacquiao's movement is giving him plenty of opportunities to land. However, Cotto is still landing hard, clean shots -- driving Pacquiao into the ropes as well.

Even though Pacquiao's ahead, there's still a sense that one big punch can turn this around.

Round 6

Now Pacquiao is stalking Cotto. I can't believe it. Pacquiao is landing power punches at will.

Cotto just is not throwing his jab enough to keep Pacquiao off him. Late in the round Pacquiao hurts Cotto with another big left. But, Cotto flurries to end the round. Pacquiao has now taken over the fight.

Round 7

Cotto looks like a beaten fighter. He isn't throwing enough and Pacquiao is landing some big shots.

Instead of using the jab that won him the first round, Cotto is looking to counter. But, there aren't many opportunities for good counter shots.

Cotto isn't even landing the hard shots he was earlier.

Round 8

Cotto is now being chased to the ropes. He looks fatigued. Pacquiao is hurting him now.

Pacquiao doesn't even appear to be worried about Cotto's strength. Pacquiao is putting on a spectacular performance.

Round 9

Pacquiao appears to be on the verge of a KO. Cotto is now holding Pacquiao after every big shot. I can't believe Pacquiao's strength at 145.

Cotto's face is bloodied and his will looks to be equally as damaged.

Round 10

A better effort from Cotto in this round. He threw more jabs and actually used some footwork.

However, Pacquiao seemed to take much of the round off. Still, he looked like he still won the round with his controlled frenzies.

Round 11

Cotto just wants to finish the fight. Pacquiao is landing big shots in the corner midway through the round, but Cotto escapes.

Cotto gets on his bicycle and the crowd boos. I think they don't know he's in the ring with perhaps the best fighter of his generation.

Round 12

Cotto doesn't look inclined to fight and Pacquiao is frustrated. However, Pacquiao chases him down and after a big flurry, the referee steps in and stops the fight.

Pacquiao wins by TKO.

Who's That Girl with Manny Pacquiao After the Jimmy Kimmel Show?

Sorry about this Manny, it's all over town so I can't help myself posting it in. I'm not concluding anything. I'm just linking up so it's up to everyone to guess who this girl is with the new 7 weight division and current welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao riding in his shiny chedeng. This video was taken shortly after Manny's guesting at Jimmy Kimmel show in Hollywood.

It's definitely not Jinkee Pacquiao. She won't be covering her face if she was Jinkee. Hmmmm... Could this be the reason why Jinkee broke into tears while hearing mass after the Pacquiao Cotto match? Oh you should see that one. Jinkee is definitely upset at Manny on that one. Well it's true as they say, money and fame can buy you a lot of things but it can also get you into lots of trouble. And if these rumors are really true, Manny should snap out of it. It's definitely not worth it.

Pacquiao Cotto Weign-In Results from MGM Grand

Official weigh-in results are in and nobody's paying by the pound for the superfight between Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.

The soft spoken underdog Miguel Cotto avoided paying a million dollar for every pound over the 145 lb. catchweight limit and managed to keep his weight and his money. The welterweight champ weighs in at 145 lbs, a pound heavier than Manny Pacquiao's 144 lbs which is his heaviest so far in his entire career.

The rest of the weigh results are as follows:

Troy Rowland (159 lbs) vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (160 lbs)

Yuri Foreman (154 lbs) vs Daniel Santos (154 lbs)

Jesus Soto-Karass (147.5 lbs) vs Alfonso Gomez (146.5 lbs)

Martin Vierra (152 lbs) vs Rodrigo Garcia (150 lbs)

Eilon Kedem (119.5 lbs) vs Eden Sonsona (121 lbs)

Mustafah Johnson (158 lbs) vs Matt Korobov (160.5 lbs)

Ernie Marquez (112 lbs) vs Richi Mepranum (112 lbs)

Lupe Guzman (134.5 lbs) vs Abner Cotto (133 lbs)

All Set for the World Welterweight Championship Fight: Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto

All is set as the world wait in anticipation of the Nov. 14 boxing mega-fight between two explosive warriors, Philippine pride Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Miguel Angel Cotto of Puerto Rico. Both fighters are on their quest to be included among the greatest of all-time.

Predictions, fight analysis, prysche wars, plus so many things about the fight and the two fighters have been written and are being written as we speak, but one thing's for sure, it's going to spell out big money! FOr Las Vegas, for everyone involved in the fight, for both parties, and of course Bob Arum.

As the world’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, Manny Pacquiao is expected to beat Miguel Cotto in their “Firepower” showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tomorrow night (Sunday morning, Manila time). The odds are 3-1 in Pacquiao’s favor which means your $300 on Pacquiao will win $100. Cotto, meanwhile, is considered as the underdog even if he will defend his WBO welterweight championship on Saturday. A $100 bet on Cotto will win $180.

But as for me, the biggest winner that will come out shining come Saturday night is the national pride of either the Filipino people or the Puerto Ricans.

Let the games begin!

Who's You Pick? Predictions from Famous Athletes, Celebrities, Boxers and Writers on Pacquiao Cotto Fight

Everyone has their opinions and predictions about the outcome of FIREPOWER: MANNY PACQUIAO and MIGUEL COTTO. But most prominently, it's interesting to hear opinions from famous boxers, professional athletes, celebrities and the esteemed press core just like the list that we have gathered today about the mega-fight championship bout that's taking place on Saturday November 14 at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

In just five short days the reigning pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and three-time world champion Miguel Cotto meet in the ring in one of the most talked about and anticipated match-ups in recent boxing history. So here goes some of these predictions from Foreman to P. Diddy, Trump to Hopkins, as they answer the biggest question in boxing world today, "Pacquiao vs. Cotto-Who will win and why?"

BOXERS

"I think there would have been a good opportunity for Pacquiao to win if he faced Cotto before he fought Clottey, but now Cotto is thinking defense. I think Cotto is going to pull out a decision, and now because of the terrible beating he took against Margarito, he knows he can't get into a knockdown drag out brawl. He's going to be smarter, and I think Cotto wins in a 12 round decision.

"Pacquiao has been riding high and has beaten some of the best in the world. And it leaves you kind of complacent when you're winning. And even if you don't want it to, sometimes you can't get up for a big fight. And that's a plus for Cotto.

I think it's an excellent fight. But when you're riding high you think you're going to walk through your opponent. You get overconfident. People in your camp tell you you're going to win. And you have your spies in camp, telling you about the other guy. When I faced Ali, Frazier and Norton both had beaten Ali, and I had knocked them out pretty easily. So when I faced Ali, I had that confidence, and you think I surely can beat this guy. So I know the feeling, and I think that will happen to Pacquiao."

- George Foreman, Former Two-Time Heavyweight World Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist, and Entrepreneur.

"I pick Manny Pacquiao by knockout. I think he will knock him out in 7 or 8. Manny just has too much for Cotto."

- Mike Tyson, Former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World

"Pacquiao is going to chop Cotto up. Out of respect, Cotto will get some rounds, but Manny is the Bruce Lee of boxing. His basketball and martial arts background give him that speed and agility. You can't tell where his shots are coming from. Unlike Rocky, Bruce Lee was a real dude and so is Manny.

- Bernard Hopkins, Former Two-Division World Champion and Future Boxing Hall of Famer

"I think Manny Pacquiao is going to be too quick for Cotto. I was ringside when Cotto fought Clottey. He seemed to struggle a bit in that fight and it is hard to say what he will do against a faster, quicker Pacquiao. I know people say Cotto is the bigger guy but I still think Pacquiao beats him in a decision."

- Joe Calzaghe, Former Undefeated Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion

"Manny Pacquiao, he's the best, he's on top right now!"

- Chad Dawson, Current IBF Light Heavyweight Champion

"It's going to be an interesting fight, and I think Pacquiao better take it very seriously! I think Cotto will win because he's a little bit bigger and is a real welterweight. His power may be enough to overcome Pacquiao's speed. I think Cotto wins in a decision."

- "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Current WBA Welterweight Champion

"If Cotto stays busy, he'll win a decision! I think that Cotto will win the fight, but I thinks it's gonna be a good fight!"

- Winky Wright, Former Undisputed Light Middleweight Champion, Current Middleweight Contender

"Manny is a big puncher and a good boxer, but he has never faced a natural welterweight like Miguel. Cotto is the most dangerous fight of Pacquiao's career. On the night of the fight, Pacquiao will still not be a full welterweight. And Cotto is very strong. As the fight plays out, around rounds 7, 8, 9, that's when Cotto starts taking over. I think Cotto will win be decision, but he might even get a knockout. With all of my heart I think Miguel Cotto will win."

- Tito Trinidad, Former Three-Division World Champion and Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year

"I'm a Puerto Rican like Cotto, but I like Pacquiao because he has fought better guys, like De La Hoya. I see him having no problem against Cotto. Cotto is not a smart fighter, he boxes, and he's shown his colors already. He can be beat. So can Pacquiao, but I like Pacquiao. He has an unorthodox style, with punches coming from all over. Cotto tries to box. I see Pacquiao possibly stopping him. Pacquiao's on a roll, he has the confidence, and he has the boxing momentum. I see him winning."

- Hector Camacho, Former WBC and WBO Three-Division Champion

"Pacquiao is a good boxer and Cotto is a fighter. I'm going to give the edge to Cotto, and not just because he's Puerto Rican, but because of the way he fights. He always comes to fight, he's always in shape. Cotto is going to have the edge. I see him winning by decision, but I do think he can knock Pacquiao out if the chance arrives."

- Carlos Ortiz, Former Three-Time World Champion and International Boxing Hall of Famer

ATHLETES

"I think Pacquiao will win in 12 rounds, but if there is a knock out I think it will happen in the 9th. Pacquiao is too quick for Cotto."

- Terrell Suggs, Three-Time Pro-Bowl Linebacker/Defensive End, Baltimore Ravens

"I'd like to see Pacquiao win because then he'd get to fight Mayweather, and THAT's a fight I really want to see!"

- Vernon Davis, Tight End, San Francisco 49'ers

"I think Pacquiao will win with a knock out in the 8th round. He is the best pound for pound fighter right now and he will be too much for Cotto to handle."

- Brandon Marshall, Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos

"I think its going to be a great fight, but I think Cotto's got the edge because Pacquio leaves himself open too much. So I'm going with Cotto in a decision"

- Kellen Winslow Jr., Tight End, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

"It should be one of the best fights of the year between two incredible boxers. Cotto's size advantage could help him early on - if it does go the distance, I think Pacquiao's technique and experience will be tough to beat. But, I say Cotto wins at the end of the day."

- Kris Jenkins, Four-Time Pro Bowl Defensive-Tackle, New York Jets

"Manny's quickness on his feet and landing punches will help to win on a knock out."

- Justin Morneau, Three-Time All-Star, 2006 AL MVP, 2008 Home Run Derby Champion, First Baseman, Minnesota Twins

"Manny. He's quick and that might be too much for Cotto to handle."

- Justin Verlander, Two-Time All-Star, 2006 AL Rookie of the Year, Pitcher, Detroit Tigers

"If Cotto can slow the fight, hit Pac with lead rights, he will be good. I believe Pac will have too much activity, and cuts will play a role in a Pac victory"

- Lee Evans, Wide Receiver, Buffalo Bills

"Cotto will be the last one standing!"

- Brian Roberts, Two-Time All-Star, Second Baseman, Baltimore Orioles

"Miguel Cotto will end Manny's domination with hard jabs and will knock him out in the later rounds to end Pac-Mans reign."

- Gordon Beckham, 2009 Sporting News AL Rookie of the Year, Third Baseman, Chicago White Sox

"Pacquiao....I think he is on a roll right now and he doesn't get enough credit for the power he brings so I think he wins by decision."

- Calvin Pace, Linebacker, New York Jets

CELEBRITIES

"Pacquiao and Cotto are two of the best welterweights out there. While both fighters possess tremendous punching power and heart, I believe that the speed of Pacquiao will earn him the WBO welterweight belt. If Pacquiao is victorious, Mayweather would be the next fight that I and all fans would want to see."

- Donald Trump, Chairman and CEO of The Trump Organization

"If Cotto reconnects the way he was three years ago, he may give Pacquiao a problem"

- Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Hip-Hop Artist, Actor and Entrepreneur

"Pacquiao is my guy, we've hung out before. He's the kind of guy you'd want with you if a bar fight broke out, I will be there to support him!"

- Tyrese Gibson, Actor starring in Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

"Manny Pacquiao's nickname is 'The Mexicutioner.' He's beaten more Latinos than the police. Pacquiao...unanimous decision."

- George Lopez, Comedian, Actor, and Host of Lopez Tonight!

"I'm sorry, the Filipino's going to win!"

- Mark Consuelos, Television Personality and Former All My Children star

"Both have no quit. Basically it's Pacman's speed and angles vs Cotto's powerful body shots and boxing skills. Two things to watch, if Cotto's cut above eye opens. And does Cotto's new trainer get him fighting sharper than he did against Clottey? This one will go down with the classics. If Cotto's on he wins, if not Pacman."

- John Leguizamo, Emmy-Award Winning Actor from Moulin Rouge, Ice Age, Collateral Damage and Assault on Precinct 13.

"I've seen plenty of people talk about standing in front of Pacquaio, but those people always seem to not make it through too well. Cotto will be the same. Pacquiao in a walk. Knock out in the fifth or sixth."

- Carrot Top, Comedian

"I'm going to have to go with Pacquiao. I saw his last fight and he's just out of control!"

-Sam Trammell, Actor in hit series True Blood

"Pacman wins cause Pacman fights. If Pacman loses, then the Philippines won't have no lights!"

- Andre Royo, Actor appearing in television series The Wire

PRESS

"This is a fight of speed and accuracy for Pacquiao, against the body punching of Cotto. Vegas has always been Pacquiao's home, and the Evel Knievelof boxing will leap over another opponent to come away with the win. Pacquiao also has a secret ingredient called Freddie Roach, who's battle plans bring tears to the eyes of Robert E Lee. Cotto is a gutsy and gritty fighter, but I think Pacquiao stops him on cuts, and wins in the 8th round."

- Burt Sugar, boxing writer and historian

"Manny Pacquiao, because his strength and speed has not been lost as he has gone up in weight. Cotto gets hit too much because he's just not quick enough to defend himself against someone as lightning-quick as Pacquiao."

- Bob Velin, USA Today

"I initially picked Pacquiao, but I did a flip flop on this one. For a guy that started at 106, you have to figure he's going to climb up one division too high at one point. Cotto is not an Oscar at the end of the line, and he's not Ricky Hatton. He's one of the top five or six in the world, and he's a natural welterweight. I'm picking Cotto by decision. His strength is going to be too much. Pacquiao keeps surprising me, but this may be the fight where he goes up one weight class too many."

- Bernard Fernandez, Philadelphia Daily News

"Pacquiao by a knockout. His left is a laser and Cotto is fairly easy to hit with straight shots."

- Gordon Marino, Wall Street Journal

"Pacquiao has enjoyed a meteoric rise by beating on offensive oriented fighters (David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton) but Cotto will be the first true counterpuncher he has faced since Juan Manuel Marquez. Cotto has the speed and skill to deflect Pacquiao's heaviest shots and the power in both hands to return a few of his own. Expect a back-and-forth, uber competitive fight that is worth every dollar of the Pay Per View price-but expect Cotto to emerge with the decision."

- Chris Mannix, Sports Illustrated

"I am having an incredibly hard time picking this fight. I find myself going back and forth - which is, of course, the sign of an excellent matchup. The big factors are going to be whether Cotto can cope with Pacquiao's speed, and whether Pacquiao can deal with Cotto's strength. I can see a scenario in which either man wins; but I still can't escape the feeling that Cotto is a little diminished after his fight with Antonio Margarito. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him win, but for now, I think Pacquiao's speed and sheer volume of punches will prove too much, and Pacquiao will win by clear decision."

- Kieran Mulvaney, Reuters

"Pacquiao's extraordinarily fast and Cotto has slowed down since the Margarito fight. If I were convinced Cotto was going to be the same guy he was before he fought Margarito, I'd take him. But I think he's slowed because of the damage he took in that fight and, as a result, I expect Manny to move in and out, hitting Cotto and sliding out of danger. I expect a great fight but I expect Manny to win a decision."

- Kevin Iole, Yahoo.com

"Cotto in a decision. He is the first legitimate welterweight that Pacquiao has faced who is in his prime rather than a blown up junior welterweight or a fighter who is no longer in the prime of his career."

- Tim Smith, New York Daily News

"I like Pacquiao to stop Cotto in the 10th round of what should be a tremendous fight. Pac-Man's speed will eventually get through Cotto's skillful defense, but not before Manny is forced to answer his toughest challenge yet. Pacquiao's gloves will be punishing enough with only his fist inside. Mayweather might want to book the winner quickly because fans just might like to see a sequel to this."

- Jim Slater, Agence France Presse

"This figures to be Pacquiao's toughest test yet. Cotto is big, strong and tough. He also showed great resolve in beating Joshua Clottey in June. However, Pacquiao is at the top of his game and despite the apparent distractions during his training camp in the Philippines, he can overcome that and use his speed, power and quickness to stop Cotto. Plus, there's the motivation of a potential mega payday with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the spring if Pacquiao wins. So he figures to be ready to give his best performance inside the ring. It will be a close fight, a tough fight with Cotto having his moments of brilliance, especially early on. But Pacquiao will weather the early storm and should eventually pull it out, earning a split decision."

- Steve Carp, Las Vegas Review-Journal

"Pacquiao has proven his greatness. But even the great ones get beat and tonight Pac Man gets beat. Miguel Cotto is a strong, tough world-class welterweight who will wear down Pacquiao over the course of a very good fight. Cotto can handle speed -- as he did when he beat Sugar Shane Mosley. But Pacquiao won't be able to handle this welterweight's strength and power. Cotto wins by 11th-round TKO."

- Bobby Cassidy, Newsday

Pacquiao vs Cotto HBO 24/7 Episode 3

Previously, we shared with you part 1 and part 2 of the Pacquiao Cotto HBO 24/7 videos. Now we have episode 3.

Episode 3 highlights were Freddie Roach and assistant coach Buboy Fernandez were interviewed, where Roach reiterated his contention that Manny Pacquiao is more than ready for Saturday's main event and the long road they travelled to get Pacquiao to where he is. "It took us like eight years to get to this point but everything we ever worked on now is in place," Roach said.

Manny's upcoming movie "Wapakman" was also highlighted. Pacquiao plays a superhero who looks like a DC comic here who has acquired supernatural powers ala “Kung Fu Hustle”. Roach says "He does it to amuse himself," which is also cool and makes for an amusing segment.

On Cotto's side, his various media workout was shown.

Manny Pacquiao on Time Magazine

Manny Pacquiao recently graced the cover of the latest TIME Magazine (Asia Edition). 20 years after former heavyweight Mike Tyson made it on the cover of Time Magazine and 9 legendary boxers, it's the reigning pound-for-pound king's time to shine and be the real man of our times.

The Gensan champ's cover title is "The Great Hope", which is very timely after the Philippines was severely devastated by several typhoons a month ago. The latest Pinoy pride is following the last Filipino to be featured on the cover of Time, the late Philippine President Corazon Aquino. She was named TIME Magazine's "Woman of the Year" in 1986, after toppling the dictatorship of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

The five page article feature of the boxing icon will also be included in the global and US TIME Magazine editions hitting newstands this weekend. Pacquiao is of course overwhelmed with the idea of so many people seeing him on the cover of the most prestigious magazine in the planet.

“I absolutely had no idea that when I started my career in boxing, to provide a better life for myself and my family, that I would now be where I am today and on the cover of TIME Magazine,” said Pacquiao. “A fighter’s dream is to win a world title and gain financial stability. But what is happening to me now is the most humbling experience of my life. It is a great honor for me to be the face of my people and to let everyone know we are a small but mighty country. I have great pride for all of the Filipinos living throughout the world and it is these people that I fight for each and every time I step into the ring.”

Manny Pacquiao Media Workout Videos

HOLLYWOOD - Manny Pacquiao grinning from ear to ear is totally exuding with confidence and enjoying his media workout held at the Wild Card Gym. Contrary to Miguel Cotto's own media workout which took place at the Pound4Pound Gym in Los Angeles where many have observed that it seems like Cotto left his smile in the training camp.

Manny on the other hand looks so confident the whole two hours as he looked like he was just doing some commercial shoot and enjoying himself.

Aside from everyone in the Team Pacquiao, Manny's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was around, as well as Hollywood names and Pacman fans Mickey Rourke and Mario Lopez.

Bob Arum was also elated about Manny Pacquiao's appearance in the Jimmy Kimmel Show the other night. It was such a big hit that producers of the nationally televised show will air a replay of that episode.

“He brought the house down. And this morning, it was on Sports Center (of ESPN),” said Arum of Pacquiao’s TV appearance where he belted the song "Sometimes When We Touch" and had the crowd “up on their feet and swaying.”

Manny on the other hand went to being serious when he talked about the fight.

“This is a huge fight for me. This is a big fight. Because if I win I become the first boxer to capture seven titles in seven weight divisions,” the reigning pound-for-pound king said.

“My advantage for this fight is my speed. And also I believe I have the power,” he said, adding that right now he’s ready to go the whole 12 rounds with the bigger, younger and stronger welterweight champion from Puerto Rico.

“Kahit tumagal ang fight wala ako problema (Even if the fight lasts long I won’t have a problem),” said Pacquiao, even if his chief trainer had predicted a knockout that could come in the first round or at most the 10th.

“Kanya-kanyang opinyon eh (It’s everybody’s opinion). Pero nire-respeto ko lahat yan (But I respect them all),” he added, before getting hold of the GMA-7 (Philippine TV Station) microphone and doing his own stand-up of the situation.

Roach: Cotto likes His New Tattoos so Manny will Tattoo His Face

Coach Freddie Roach wittingly commented "He seems to like those tattoos so Manny will tattoo his face," on a photo shown to him by Filipino journalist Abac Cordero showing the Puerto Rican Cotto displaying washboard abs and some of his neat new tattoos. This was during Manny's gym stint before heading to Jimmy Kimmel Live for his interview and live song performance.

Roach also gave a visual demonstration to Manny using video of Cotto fighting Clottey and Corley. Underlining the idea how Cotto telegraphs his intention in throwing his wicked left hooks.

Roach also said, "Today was a good day with eight rounds of sparring. Manny came over to the corner and he told me, 'I'm back.' We had our little distractions in Baguio and then in Manila but now everything is coming together like it should be."

Roach also continues to reiterate a one round KO victory against Cotto.

"It is a possibility," Roach said. "But the problem is when Cotto gets hurt, he resorts to fouls, he resorts to low blows."

"That's something I want the very capable ref, Kenny Bayless, to be aware of. It's something that can be prevented. I want the ref to take points away from Cotto if he does that or to disqualify him right away."

The trainer of the year also questioned Chief Cotto trainer Jose Santiago and everyone in the Cotto camp's (except former team Pacquiao aide Joe Chavez) credentials by saying "Joe Chavez is the only qualified guy they have on their team,".

Roach even said Cotto's low rise haircut may have caused something of a Samson and Delilah problem.

"He fought better when he had a full head of hair," Roach said. "The last two fights without the hair he has not been very good. As to his corner again, who is there to correct his mistakes when he says he is the only boss?"

"Cotto cocks his left hook every time he is going to throw it. He won't hit Manny in the ass with that because he will be getting hit with right hooks from all different angles."

And regarding the bigger Cotto not making the contract 145 pound weight, Roach said the fight will be called off should Cotto weighs over 147 pounds.

"If he goes over 147, there will be no fight. Forget the money (and a penalty for being over 145). If he is a few pounds over, then I will insist he make the effort to lose them."

"Manny doesn't give a spit what he weighs, really,"
Roach said. "Manny will fight King Kong."

He also pointed that Manny should always stay out of the rope to avoid getting trapped. "That is 100 percent, Manny can only lose if he stays on the rope for this guy. Our fight is in the center of the ring, our fight is hand speed and foot speed." he said.

Roach even joked about putting down three different bets on Manny KO in Vegas. "I am betting $1,000 on round one," Roach said. "Then I will also bet $1,000 on round nine and $1,000 on round 10."

Manny Pacquiao Sings on Jimmy Kimmel Show

NY boxing examiner Michael Marley of examiner.com reported a Hollywood swinging day with the reigning pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao. After a brisk and backbreaking gym stint that included eight strong sparring rounds, with four rounds against Mexican Urbano Antillo, and another four with the bigger and heavy hitting Shawn Porter of Ohio, a brief press talk with some Filipino press corps, Manny drove across town with his black Benz straight to Jimmy Kimmel Show Studios.

It was later confirmed from Agent Michael Koncz that Manny is crooning and singing his way into American hearts on national television via Jimmy Kimmel Show with his own rendition of "Sometimes When We Touch".

Miguel Cotto Hits a Hot L.A. Media Workout

WEST L.A. - Reeking of sweat, heat and the scent of more than 100 body odors in the small West L.A. boxing gym, Miguel Cotto seemed right at home as he used the ropes, shadow boxed, hit the mitts and chit chatted with a few celebrities on Tuesday.

Cotto’s rare L.A. media workout brought out the journalists eager to capture the Puerto Rican bomber who defends his WBO welterweight world title against Pound for Pound champion Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) on Saturday Nov. 14.

The clash takes place in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and will be shown on HBO pay-per-view.

Cotto spoke with television star Mario Lopez and posed with the Tecate girls before sitting down to speak with the several dozen fight reporters. On Wednesday it’s Pacquiao’s turn.

Can Cotto Prove His Detractors Wrong? Plus latest footage of Cotto training on HBO 24/7

Miguel Cotto is oozing with confidence these days. He believes that his 3-month preparation is more than enough to topple down the reigning pound-for-pound champ, Manny Pacquiao.

“This is probably the best training I've ever had,” said Cotto, who will stake his World Boxing Organization title against Pacquiao who is now considered today's King of the Ring.

Highly Motivated

Cotto's training camp in Tampa, Florida is evidently showing how much motivation team Cotto has given to help the Puerto Rican champ get in shape.

There's a streamer of "PACQUIAO ON TARGET" hanging on the gym's wall. The streamer is also carrying the text, "On November 14 the world will witness who will be the new king of the ring.” Even Cotto's punching bags have Pacquiao pictures drawn on them to help the Puerto Rican champ familiarize and psyche himself up against his opponent.

Boxing greats on Cotto's side

Even boxing greats are favoring Cotto. Former three-division champion and fellow Puerto Rican Felix “Tito” Trinidad said he is certain that Cotto will upset the current pound-for-pound king. Which he thinks has never faced a “natural welterweight” like Cotto.

"On the night of the fight, Pacquiao will still not be a full welterweight. And Cotto is very strong,” said Trinidad in El Nuevo Dia as quoted by Mark Vester of BoxingScene.com.

He also added, “As the fight plays out, around rounds 7, 8, 9 is when Cotto starts taking over. I think Cotto will win [by] decision but he might even get a knockout. With all of my heart I think Miguel Cotto will win.”

Angelo Dundee, the legendary trainer of boxing great Muhammad Ali, thinks Pacquiao is not taking home the win this time.

“The style, I think his style is going to mess with Pacquiao. I think he's going to nail Pacman with some shots he's never been hit before,” Dundee said.

But let us also not forget that Dundee made similar predictions prior to the Pacquiao’s matches against Oscar de la Hoya and Ricky Hatton. Pacquiao, invincible as he was on both fights, disproved Dundee.

Roach refutes

Freddie Roach, meanwhile, refutes Cotto's chances against Pacquiao, size advantage notwithstanding.

Roach said it is irrelevant whether or not Cotto makes the 145-pound catch weight limit. “He can weigh whatever he wants. Manny will kick his butt at any weight,” Roach told David Tyler in a recent interview at DoghouseBoxing.com.

He also pointed out that the disparity in size between Pacquiao and Cotto is not “that big”, belieng the notion that the Puerto Rican will step into the ring a “giant”.

“They are a half inch apart. When you look at the pictures of them together, they look very similar in height and weight,” Roach added.

The Trainer of the Year coach, who has scrutinized Cotto’s fighting style even before the Pacquiao-Cotto match was officially announced, said he knows the WBO champ’s weakness. And on this weakness, they are basing Pacquiao's strategy.

“I know him (Cotto) better than he knows himself at this point,” Roach remarked.

“Strength and height does not win fights, ability wins fights. Manny is a better boxer than Cotto,” he said.

Roach also boldly predicted that Manny will score a first-round knockout against Cotto. He said, “He is very hittable. Any fighter going up against Manny Pacquiao that is hittable will not last long.”

Roach also noted that Cotto’s longer training period does not guarantee victory for the Puerto Rican. “However, it will be a good excuse when he loses the fight. His group will say they overtrained for the fight,” added Roach.

Richard Steele Predicted Pacquiao-Mayweather will be the Biggest Money Fight in Boxing History

Well-known boxing promoter, Las Vegas insider and hall of famer referee Richard Steele, predicted that a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather would definitely break the record 2.2 million pay per view set by the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight held May 5, 2007, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. He commented, “I’m looking forward to the biggest fight in history with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. That [match] would be the biggest money fight in history, without a doubt.”

Fightfannation.com also cited that only five non-heavyweight fights in history have eclipsed the one million pay per view mark and those are De La Hoya-Trinidad with 1.4 millions buys, De La Hoya-Hopkins with 1 million buys, De La Hoya-Mayweather with 2.2 million buys, De La Hoya-Pacquiao with 1.25 million buys, and Mayweather-Marquez with 1 million sells.

Although we can expect the negotiations involving a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao would be quarrelsome and laborious, but a prospective revenue exceeding 100 million dollars, which could translate into 30 million dollar pay-days for both Mayweather and Pacquiao will most likely persuade both parties involved to come to the negotiating table to make the match in the event that Pacquiao beats Miguel Cotto on November 14.
